En Benito Juárez se conservan añejas tradiciones navideñas, que conviven con  la modernidad y el fulgor luminoso de sus numerosos centros comerciales. Y se escenifican pastorelas, se celebran posadas y se iluminan fachadas de casas en colonias como Del Valle. Letrán Valle y Narvarte.
Entre los Nacimientos, destacan el que desde hace 30 años se instala en el garage de la casa 1821 de la calle de Bartolache, entre Parroquia y Eje 8 Sur, en la colonia Del Valle Sur, y el de Uxmal 664, entre Chichen Itzá y Matías Romero, de la colonia Letrán Valle. El primero es una representación monumental de la Biblia y el segundo una fantasía fascinante de figuras, luces, colores y ocurrencias. Uno distinto, reciente, es el que con figuras de barro de tamaño natural está a las puertas de Autofín, en Insurgentes 1235. Y este año habrá posadas en varias colonias de nuestra demarcación, donde se conservan tradiciones como las letanías, la procesión, la piñata, las colaciones y el ponche. El  jueves 16 de diciembre se celebrará la de San Juan Mixcoac. El sábado 18, a partir de las 18 horas, habrá pastorela y posada en el templo de la Emperatriz de América, frente al parque de La Bola, en San José Insurgentes. Ese mismo día se romperán las piñatas en el Parque Pombo de San Pedro de los Pinos, a las 20 horas.

Otro atractivo decembrino que cada año cobra mayor relevancia en nuestra demarcación es la iluminación de fachadas de casas en la  calle Enrque Rebramen, desde División del Norte hasta Concepción Béistegui, en los linderos entre Del Valle y Narvarte. Y aunque extrañamos al célebre Árbol de Navidad de Liverpool Insurgentes, que por las obras del Metro dejó de instalarse luego de 48 años de tradición, la calle de Parroquia, precisamente en su cruce con Insurgentes ofrece un panorama de luces blancas que penden de los árboles y de los puentes, mientras el hermoso arbolito de la Cocacola,  en la entrada de Plaza Galerías, mitiga nuestra nostalgia.
